Three suspects who were accused of gouging Baby Sagini’s eyes back in December on Thursday appeared before Kisii Law courts and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The three namely Alex Ochogo, Rael Nyakerario, and Pacificah Nyakerario had their charges amended from attempted murder charges to causing grievous harm to the minor by the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The first time the three were charged with attempted murder was on January 18th before DPP led by Prosecutor Hillary Kaino pleaded with the court to amend the charge sheet.

Back in December, the three were accused of gouging out Baby Sagini’s eyes before his body was found dumped in a maize plantation and later taken in for treatment.
According to DPP, they have enough evidence to prove before the court that indeed the accused caused bodily harm to the baby.
George Morara appeared before the court as an interested party representing Kisii County Government as she called for a date for the witnesses to record their statements before the court.
The case will again be heard on February 24th and March 3rd, 2023.
