Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary has handed over the leadership of Amani National Congres (ANC) to Lamu Governor Issa Timamy.
Through a notice dated Wednesday, 26th October, Mudavadi noted that the move follows his appointment to the Cabinet.

“H. E Hon Musalia Mudavadi relinquished his position as ANC Party Leader following his nomination for appointment as Prime Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of Kenya. This is in accordance with Article 77(2) of the Constitution of Kenya,” read the notice.

The notice continues by confirming that the party bureau has also been informed of the news which is in accordance with the ANC party constitution.
During the vetting process in Parliament on October 17th, Mudavadi told the vetting committee of his intentions of leaving the party leadership.
On Wednesday, Parliament approved all 24 Cabinet Secretaries as nominated by President Ruto and they will resume their duties on Thursday after the swearing-in ceremony at State House.
