The Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission(IEBC) has on Sunday morning declared Johnson Sakaja as the governor elect of Nairobi County.
This is after the former Nairobi Senator garnered a total of 699,392 votes beating his closest rival Polycarp Igathe who garnered a total of 573,516 votes in the hotly contested race.
Sakaja who had a good record from the polls conducted for the position and proved right for the task after the people of Nairobi entrusted him with their votes.

Polycarp Igathe was attempting to make a comeback in active politics following a short stint as the Deputy Governor during Mike Sonko’s era.
Even after getting the backup of the entire Azimio la Umoja team, Igathe was short of beating the super Senator had already won the hearts of many Nairobians.
