COVID-19: Kenya records zero deaths and 485 new cases

Kenya has for the first time in weeks recorded zero COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours leaving the Cumulative Number of fatalities in the country at 3,428.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed 485 new cases of the virus from a total of 5,355 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The new cases represent a positivity rate of 9.1%.

As a country, cumulative number of cases and samples now stand at 176,622 and 1,881,460.

Distribution of the new cases is as follows; Nairobi 119, Hama Bay 68, Siaya 61, Kisumu 48, Mombasa 28, Busia 24, Kakamega 19, Kericho 16, Nakuru 14, Bomet 13, Uasin Gishu 11, Bungoma 10, Vihiga 8, Kisii 7, Machakos 7, Kilifi 5, Nyeri 4, Narok 4, Migori 3, Kajiado 2, Kiambu 2, Kirinyaga 2, Kitui 2, Nyandarua 2, West Pokot 2, Kwale 1, Laikipia 1, Murang’a 1 and Nyamira 1.

On a positive note, 312 patients have recovered from the virus pushing the cumulative number of recoveries in the country to 121,206. Out of the recoveries, 219 of them are from home-based care and 93 from various heath facilities in the country.
