A Chinese National has been arrested by police who recovered five guns and 700 bullets recovered during the operations.
The recoveries follows a joint operation by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and National Intelligence Service (NIS) who raided the 42-year-old man’s house in Lavington, Nairobi.
On Friday, the Chinese national was arrested in Kitui as he headed to Garissa when he was stopped and found in possession of some guns which he could not confirm whether he was licensed gun holder.

At his house in Lavington, the suspect was found in possession of four pistols and 500 bullets before proceeding to search two houses in Muthaiga, Nairobi County.
It was at Kaputei Gardens where the police recovered four other guns including an assault riffle and revolver which have been taken on for ballistic examination.
The detectives were also able to find an expired gun license and it was established that has been in the country since 2011.
