All schools to reopen in January, orders President Kenyatta

President Uhuru Kenyatta has on Saturday ordered all schools in the country to reopen in January amid the pandemic.

The Head of State was speaking at Nyayo Stadium when he ordered the Chief and Assistant Chiefs through the Interior Ministry to ensure that the orders are effected come January 4th.

He continued by confirming that the Ministry of Education had lied down the necessary guidelines to ensure that the process is smooth as possible.

The Ministry of Education will also receive reports to ensure that all students are present at school and those note down names of those absent.

Education CS George Magoha on the other hand has been tasked to ensure that all student who dropped out due to pregnancy resume classes.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was speaking as the country marked its 57th Jamhuri day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium.

“The President outlined achievements made by the Country in the roll out of the Big 4 Agenda programs, strengthening of Devolution & the battle against Covid-19, and restated the Government’s plan to resume learning in all classes effective 4th January 2021” Said State House
