Five notorious robbers with violence suspects arrested

Directorate of Criminal Investigation, DCI detectives have on Firday arrested five notorious thieves in Nairobi.

The five are accused of brutally mugging people along Ronald Ngala, Lithuli and River Road in the wee morning hours.

DCI Kenya revealed that they were arrested after a business man in River Road identified the suspects.

The case had previously been placed under bond consideration before the suspects were arraigned before Makadara Law Courts to answer to robbery with violence charges.

“Five suspects nabbed by DCI Kenya Detectives based in Kamukunji in connection with brutal muggings within Ronald Ngala, Luthuli, River Road and Racecourse during the wee hours of the morning were today charged with Robbery with violence before Makadara Law Courts.

All the five suspects were positively identified by the complainant who is a business man within River Road. The case was placed for mention on 7th July, 2020 for bond consideration.”

The arrest comes a day after the DCI detectives arrested three police officers caught on camera whipping and dragging Mercy Cherono in Kuresoi South.

A video footage that made rounds on social media angered Kenyans calling for immediate action by the government.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as a CID officer attached to the police station in the area.
