Who is Carlos Santana?

Carlos Santana, a Mexican and American guitarist, was born on July 20, 1947, in Autlan de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico. He is an origin from San Francisco, California, US. He stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall. Born as the son of Jose Santana, and his wife Josefina Barrangin, Carlos was born with the star sign Cancer and holds an American nationality. He grew up with his younger brother, Jorge Santana. Moreover, they were highly interested in music from their very young age.

Carlos enrolled in James Lick Middle School and Mission High School for his schooling. Also, later he attended California State University, Humboldt State University, and Northbridge.

How is Carlos Santana Professional Life?

Carlos started his career as a musician with a number. Later in 1966, he was in a “Santas Blues Band” along with other musicians, including David Brown and Gregg Rolie. They eventually gained a massive fan following in San Francisco after their foot-tapping performance in 1969 at Woodstock. Later, the band name changed to “Santana.” This success led him to sign a contract with the CBS records. Santana then recorded their debut album, which was released in 1969, and the performance at the festival led them for the international acclaim. The following year, the band released its second album, “Abraxas,” followed by “Santana III” in September 1971.

Carlos decided to collaborate with his old band-mates and recorded “Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles Live” that released in 1972. Also, Santana’s fourth album released as “caravanserai.” Being a massive fan of the fusion group, “Mahavishnu Orchestra,” he introduced to the guru of one of the guitarists of the group, Sri Chinmoy. He then went to record the album with the guitarist in 1973 as Love, Devotion, Surrender”. Later in 1973, he experimented with jazz fusion with Santana’s fifth studio album, “Welcome.” From 1974 to 1978, he was a part of the albums, “Borboletta,” “Amigos,” “Inner Secrets,” “Illuminations,” and “inner Secrets’.

In 1979, Carlos started his solo career and released “Oneness: Silver dreams- Golden reality,” and “The swing of Delight” the following year. In the 80s, he released a few albums, including “Freedom,” “beyond Appearances,” “Shango.” Also, in 1987 he provided the soundtrack in the American film “La Bamba.” He organized a reunion with his former band-mates and CBS records in 1988 and released an album “viva Santana!”.

After 22 years, he left Columbia Records and signed a new record with Polygram. Though his records in the 90s were very slow, after his another album with several international artists, “Supernatural,” he again came into the limelight.

From the year 2002 to 2005, he released “Shaman,” and also contributed to other albums like “possibilities,” “Oral Fixation Vol. 2”. He also had a tour of Europe with several musicians. By the end of 2008, he worked in the solo album “Acoustic demos,” and also performed in the American idol. Later in 2012, he released the 22nd album of “Sanatana,” “Shape Shifter.”

Regarding his personal life, Corollas is a married man. He tied his knot with Deborah King in 1973. Also, the couple is blessed with three children.
