Today was a better day we could say, as only 180 people died in the U.K. after being diagnosed with Coronavirus, that is a drop from yesterdays 209 deaths.

But it is hard to tell if these are the results are from the lockdown the Government implemented a week ago today, the government will need more time to see the effects of this lockdown.

Unfortunately, 14 of these deaths are from people that tested positive to covid-19 in Wales.

Rescue British People Abroad

The government has pledged £75m for rescue flights; this has been put in place to help get U.K. nationals back home.

Where there are no commercial routes available U.K. travellers could access a travel company that the government will be using to charter rescue flights.

To the other commercial routes, companies like British Airways, Virgin, EasyJet, Jet2 and Titan Airways have all agreed with the government arrangements; these flights will be “affordable” so people can pay through a particular travel company. 

Raab has urged that people abroad should follow the local British embassy or high commission on social media for up to date information. 

Stay Home – Protect The NHS – Save Lives. 

Sir Patrick has shown a graph showing the changes in transport use in Britain before and after the lockdown.

He emphasised that “We’re doing a good job of cutting that down”, which “should reduce the number of cases”.

Sir Patrick also showed a graph and said that we are in a similar route to France. Coronavirus cases will continue to grow for up to three weeks.

He says that the government’s “stay home, save lives, protect the NHS” message is “true everywhere in the U.K.”.

“We all need to do this” to decrease transmissions, cases and therefore the number of people coming into the hospital,” he adds.

Mr Raab and Sir Patrick both said that is it crucial to continue with this “dramatic reductions” in transport and footfall, the more people that follow this guidance “, the quicker ” the government can review and probably ease up on restrictions.

The question of when will antibody tests be rolled out, and how can people take them? Was raised and Dr Yvonne Doyle said that these tests are “under investigations “, but did not give any name or dates on when we could use them, she did say that they are looking at a test that can be done at home.
