How to Create a System Restore Point in Windows 10, 11

In this tech tutorial blog post I will show you how to create a system Restore point in Windows 10 and Windows 11. System Restore Point allows users to create a full backup of the whole Windows OS and can be restored anytime to the exact PC stats when the backup was created. It helps users when their PC starts facing issues and they can easily restore the backup from that system restore point. 

System Restore Point is a very useful recovery tool that recovers your PC from problems instead of reinstalling a fresh windows installation and losing your data. Creating a System restore point is a very wise decision as after installing windows or drivers updates or making any changes in Registry Editor, sometimes your PC starts facing issues. You can easily restore your system to an earlier point in time these fix issues. 

In this tech tutorial guidance, I will show you how to create a system restore point in Windows 10, 11 and how to recover using System Restore Point.  

How to Create a System Restore Point in Windows 10, 11

  • Click on Windows Start Button and type Create a restore point and select it from the list of results.

  • Now head to the System Protection tab, Select Local Drive (C:) (System) and click on Configure button.

  • On the next screen, select Turn on system protection and Drag the slider to adjust the size of storage you want to allocate for backing up restore points from the Disk Space Usage area. Click on Apply button and then OK.

  • Now to create a Restore Point, click on Create Button.

  • On the next screen, type the description (the name for that restore point to help you identify the restore point). Click on Create Button.

  • The System Restore Creating process will be started, just wait for it to complete and you will see a confirmation message when it’s completed. Click on the Close button and then click on OK. The system restore point is now created and you can restore it any time you want. 

How to Restore Windows from System Restore Point

  • So you have created a system restore point and now want to restore your Windows from the system restore point right? Here is how to do that:
  • Click on Windows Start Button and type Create a restore point and select it from the list of results.
  • Click on the System Protection tab and click on the System Restore below the System Restore option

  • Click the Next and on the next screen select your restore point
  • Click on Scan for affected programs, it will scan your restore point backup to make sure you are good to go. Click on Close after finishing the scan.
  •  Click on the Next button to continue and on the next screen, click on Finish 
  • A new popup message will appear that will ask for confirmation, click on YES and the restore process will be started in a while. Your system will automatically restart to complete the restore process and it will take some time. 
  • After Restart you will see a Successful message and that means you have successfully restored your PC to take stats where the restore point was created. That’s all
