“Wake up to reality! Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. The longer you live, the more you realise that the only things that truly exist in this reality are merely pain.” Quite an interesting choice of words, coming from one of the two men who suffer sleepless nights.

In our presence, we have a man who provides a calming, peaceful, and hilarious vibe. Welcome in, Rtr. Vimeth Athukorala, Director of IT Avenue for the RI Year 2023–24! The cornerstone of content within Rotaract Club of SLIIT. 

Working side-by-side with Rtr. Themiya: quality is guaranteed, and beauty is a given. What is also a given is that their sleep schedules are absolutely decimated. Vimeth has put in countless hours of work to ensure every little detail of every piece of content that goes out is up to standard.

Heard of the Tik Tok audio? “Calling for some wheels? I’m Johnny on the spot! I’ll hook you up!” ? Well, that’s Vimeth with the posters. The magic this man can work is mind-blowing. With a seamless disconnect from what everyone else does, Vimeth can turn the most basic of ideas into literal stardust.

Where does he get his inspiration from, though? For starters, Anime is a huge deal in his life; he literally won’t stop talking about it. Heck, he was even the originator of several groups dedicated solely to anime on campus.

That’s not all there is to our marvellous Vimeth. He’s a classy lad; I’ll give him that. He has a Lex Luthor-esque vibe to him, if I’m being honest. His classiness shows from his sense of fashion to his epic work.

Fun fact: Need someone to sing depressed songs with? Vimeth is just the man for that. Synergist proved just that. Six of our members (Vimeth included) were up until 3:30 AM just singing depressed songs. Guess who was in charge of the queue? If you guessed Vimeth, then 5 points to Gryfinndor!

Did I forget to mention that Vimeth is a highly talented photographer too? His aesthetic is so pleasant yet so vibrant. It feels illegal to be this talented,but man,is he good at his craft?

All in all, Vimeth is one heck of a human. Though Rtr. Themiya may have some cynical ideas, we’re sure those get put to bed in the presence of Vimeth. With those two at the wheel of the public image of Rotaract Club of SLIIT, it promises to be an enticing year ahead!
