“Life is like a game of chess; I don’t know how to play chess.” Being in the Avenue she is in, it’s quite the embarrassment, although yours truly doesn’t either. However, she isn’t wrong in the sense that life is like a game of chess.

Everyone, please welcome, Rtr. Senali Guruge, Director of the Professional Development Avenue. Alongside her Co-director, Rtr. Charith Yohan, she is truly fit for the position. The character development she has had over her first year in Rotaract is a testament to why she is the director.

Senali first comes off as heavily socially awkward; the more you get to know her, the more you regret it (nah, I’m playing). Her fun-loving personality, along with her constant state of energy, truly isn’t one you want to miss out on. 

A gift that keeps on giving couldn’t apply to anyone any better than it does to Senali. A whole pool of surprises and embarrassing moments. If you catch her at the right time, it will seem as if she is just lost and/or done with life.

Not quite what you would expect from the Professional Avenue Director, eh? Fear not; she never let’s any task surpass it’s deadline. If she assigns a task to you, she will pester you about it even after it’s done. That’s the dedication she gives to ensuring the success of any project.

With numerous projects having received her aid and receiving that same pestering, it really should come as no shock that said projects were successful. All this is not to say that Senali isn’t fun. If you need a flair for chaotic fun, Senali is the one to call upon.

With the ball in her courtyard, we’re sure that it will be a defying year in terms of grooming a new generation of Rotaractors for the industry. Let’s show her some positive energy and await the initiatives she launches!
