From the directors of “I got ice in my veins,” we present to you, “I have ink in my veins and stories in my brain; with the precision of a surgeon and the heart of a storyteller, I carve out excellence in every word.” If y’all thought the enigma from the previous blog was good (PS: he do be good; check the blog), wait till y’all get to know this phenom.
I present Rtr. Benushi Rajapaksha, Co-Editor for RI Year 2023–24. There really is no lie in the quote that Ben gave. She could give some of the best writers a run for their money; she is a walking journal, a fountain that never stops flowing with new ideas.
Y’all remember the intro for the Powerpuff Girls? Slow down; she isn’t that childish. Sugar, spice, and everything nice were used to create them, right? Wondering what ingredients were used to form Benushi? Perfectionism, OCD, and everything a storyteller would ever need. It’s evident in the way she captivates readers with every word she writes.
Benushis’ ability to take readers through a journey where they feel like the main character is impeccable. I kid you not, the “precision of a surgeon” line is no joke; her story-telling is unprecedented, and it takes everyone by storm, so watch out for it.
We’ve hyped her enough, haven’t we? Benushi is a delightful blend of “I have no clue what’s going on; please tell me” and “Let me outta hereeee!!!” She could zone out quicker than a Bugatti’s 0-60 MPH time, yet she would’ve heard everything you said while zoned out.
Her sarcasm is so cutting-edge that Chandler Bing stands no chance against her. “Could I be any more…? ” Yeah, forget about that around Benushi because she takes sarcasm to such heights that you start to doubt your own sense of sarcasm.
Through it all, Ben remains a beacon of hope for humanity with her kind spirit and unbelievable understanding. A constant light of reassurance and good vibes, she really is someone worth keeping around. Keep this in mind for me: “If Ben is around, it’s bound to be a good time!”
