“I’m a delightful mix of quirkiness and awesomeness, with a dash of unpredictability to keep life exciting. Embrace the madness, because when things get dark, I shine brightest. (PS: I’m Batman.)” I never knew Batman could be an Assistant Secretary. Nor did I expect Batman to have quirkiness as a characteristic.
I introduce to you all Rtr. Sulakna Weerasinghe, Assistant Secretary for RI Year 2023–24. A perfect blend of “I don’t know what I’m doing” and “Consider it done!” Sulakna truly fulfills his role as assistant secretary. While only being a few inches taller than Rtr. Kaavya (our other assistant secretary; incase you didn’t know about her, go check her blog!)
Sulakna lives his life as if he’s in an anime. He came in like Miley Cyrus’ wrecking ball and never stopped. However, there is only one weakness in this man, and that is our Secretary, Rtr. Nivasheni. Nothing in this world is stopping him from doing what he wants to do, other than her.
Jokes aside, Sulakna is a down-to-earth, humble, little (by the mind, by the body, by the soul) fella, and just like the song in Toy Story, Sulakna is the embodiment of “You’ve got a friend in me.” Although if you ever make a plan with this man, he turns into Casper, the friendly ghost—emphasis on ghost.
Sula does have an incredible work ethic, though. He is relentless in the face of adversity and will not back down from a challenge, regardless of the circumstances. That was a key attribute in his journey to becoming assistant secretary, as in his time as a committee member in the Professional Development avenue, he successfully chaired several successful projects.
Though he possesses the work ethic and charisma of a demon, he is a prankster at heart. Hiding our things to scare us, throwing others slippers out of buildings and throwing fire crackers into people’s houses in the middle of the night (Then again, haven’t we all done wild shenanigans as such?)
Alright, that’s enough about Sulakna for today. Intruiging person? If so, do keep an eye out on him because he sure will stir up an amazing year. Please welcome Rtr. Sulakna Weerasinghe in as your Assistant Secretary for RI Year 2023–24.
