Normally, hearing the words “Vice President” (VP), you would expect “accommodating, approachable, and welcoming.” However, this VP in particular has quite a way with words. “Don’t come too close to me; keep the distance”, is what they said after being asked for a quote. Clearly, they’re still living in the pandemic era.
All jokes aside, let me introduce you all to one of the sweetest people on this year’s board, Dewmi Siriwardhane, the VP of avenues. A heart of gold and a personality that is just a ticking time bomb waiting to blow. She may come off as distant or anxious at first (not a lot, alright, just a tiiinnnyyy bit), but trust me when I say this: get to know her a little and witness the contrast in personalities in seconds.
She has the work ethic of a demon and will make sure that her work is done one way or another. There’s no rest until everything is done; the slightest break you’ll ever get is a reminder of what’s left to do. It sounds like a hassle, doesn’t it? Well, it’s all worth it because the outcome of all that work is unrivaled.
All seriousness aside, Dewmi is practically a walking source of entertainment and good vibes, inspiring in every sense of the word. It’s safe to say that finding people like her is a near-impossible task, let alone for the reasons I have already mentioned.
If you have ever wanted to have a dance party but never had the opportunity to be at one, Dewmi will bring the dance party to you. No one compares to Dewmi; when she’s got her dancing boots on, the world doesn’t stand a chance. To be fair, that shouldn’t come as a shock considering she was the Club Service Director for the RI Year 2022–23.
Alright, alright, alright. That’s most of what comes to mind in regards to the Great Dewmi. If she hasn’t already cemented her place in this club, she sure as hell is about to. She will, without a shadow of a doubt, guide the avenues of this club to new heights and build a legacy that can’t be matched.
Saying all this, please welcome along with me the VP of avenues for the year 2023–24, Dewmi Siriwardhane. Get ready to be left in awe by the year that she is about to conquer.
