This dynamic man embodies the spirit of service and leadership, guiding the club towards transformative change and impactful initiatives. Dear readers, it is with immense pleasure that I introduce one of our Vice PResident’s, Rtr. Adeesha Ovitigala, one of the many driving forces behind the Rotaract movement!
The IT Director for the RI year 2022–23, Adeesha, has been a part of Rotaract for years and has plenty of experience digging through trenches and doing grunt work to be standing here as a member of the top board for this year. As the Vice President of Branding for our club, Adeesha crafts a powerful vision for the club’s future, embracing innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable growth.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about the man behind the mask. Adeesha is well known for being a fun-loving, ready-to-take-on-challenges kind of guy, and he portrays the image of a serious and fierce man. While he has a reputation to uphold, I’ll let my fellow readers understand the man behind it: smart and brave yet caring beyond words, he is the living embodiment of ‘gentle warrior’. One of his many hidden characteristics is how compassionate he is, and he will go through hell and high water for anyone he cares about or anyone he thinks is in desperate need of help, regardless of who they are.
As the Vice President responsible for branding of Rotaract Club of SLIIT, one of his responsibilities is to ensure that the club functions without any misunderstandings. He takes up this responsibility with a grace I have never seen in anyone else. Adeesha will never admit this out loud, but his genuine care for each member creates a sense of belonging and camaraderie, making Rotaract not just an organization but a family driven by a shared passion for service.
So, dear readers, it is in my greatest interest to welcome Adeesha as the Vice President for the RI year 2023–24, and I invite all of you to observe and be swept away by his unwavering commitment and infectious enthusiasm to the Rotaract movement and, with it, the transformative power it holds.
