Have you ever wondered where the saying “She’s a girl with a heart of gold, strength untold, and a melody in every step she takes” originates from? Neither have I. Apparently, our President for the RI Year 2023–24 is the one who originally came up with the quote.
Manisha Alwis is the literal embodiment of the word ‘legacy’! Whenever she sets her mind to something, there is nothing stopping her. Obstacles? Oh, please, those are no match for her. Walls in her way? Don’t you worry; she’s walking right through them because once she has her eyes on a goal, you better believe that goal is as good as achieved!
Don’t believe me? Let’s have a look at the awards she’s won, then, eh? In the 33rd Rotaract District Assembly, she won ‘Most Outstanding Secretary of the Year’, which honestly is enough of a testament. But let’s show off our President to the max, shall we? Up next are “Best Reporting Club of the Year—Gold,” “Most Outstanding Annual Report of the Year—Gold,” and ‘Secretary of the Quarter—Q2’ for her duties as Secretary for RI 22–23. And lastly, she was awarded the Spirit of Service.
But wait, there’s more! It’s not always just business with our delightful President. She’s got a fun-loving personality with tremendous wit and a killer instinct; her eagle eyes could spot your intentions even before you’d have thought of them. But she does come with her goofy side too.
Rumor has it that Manisha has a line she uses when she is feeling overly confident. Any idea of what it could be? Brace yourselves, because I have the inside scoop. Her signature line is, “I have my ways of doing things.” Now, admittedly, she doesn’t go wrong very often. But how fun would it be to see the look on her face when something goes wrong?
Fun fact: She has never regretted a choice she has made in her entire life! If I had a dollar for every choice that I regretted, I would probably be a millionaire. How on earth could one go twenty-odd years into their life and not regret ONE choice? That just goes to show how confident our dearest President is in her gut and how there is a melody in every step she takes in life.
