Why Love is the most expensive currency there is…

In an imperfect world, love is a powerful word that holds multiple definitions. While love is more than capable to connect people together, it also carries enough power to destroy nations. Between these two definitive ends, love stands. It is a currency that needs to be spent carefully, without any waste. Unlike money, you can’t print it or store it in a bank. Unlike money, love is rare and valuable. It can be the difference of peace and war. That is why it is always necessary to respect love with proper validation, and treat and handle it with extreme care. However, regardless of all these warnings that come with it, love is purely a positive expression, and it has many good qualities to it.

Everything has its limits, but love can go past all the boundaries if it’s powerful enough. Love is limitless. In the olden days, it is common to hear the rule of man marrying a woman, or a woman marrying a man. But today, love has freed people of their limitations and has given them the independence to connect with whoever they please. It is true that there are still a few judgmental faces out there who will immediately voice their opinions regardless of the other person’s feelings, but they can also be defeated by love. At first, it may look hard to ignore those judgements, but the growing love in one’s heart can simply evaporate those hurtful comments and help move that individual on to a place where they can simply be happy for who they are. Like Maya Angelou said, “Love recognizes no barriers”. The next variation of love is the bond one has with their family and friends. Unlike romantic love, this bond is hidden to the naked eye, but still, it’s very much powerful and in control. Love is what keeps a family together during hardships in life, and it is what brings the family together as a unit. Friendships are what keeps you connected to the society and there too, love can be seen. Finally, the most powerful love that one needs to live is, loving themselves. If a person doesn’t love themselves as much as they love another person, they haven’t figured out what love truly means. Love is only valuable once an individual starts loving themselves for who they are, including their flaws. Hating one’s own self and giving all the love to another on a silver platter can only mean that love is still invaluable to that individual. They aren’t careful enough when spending this extremely rare and expensive currency. This can only result in toxicity, which leads to negativity.

Regarding all of the above, it is clear that love is mostly related to positivity. However, love can also be manipulated and weaponized. Love can lead to revenge, which can only result horrible outcomes. This can mostly be seen in the big screen, especially in super hero movies where the villain is driven with the idea of taking revenge, which was originally motivated by love. These movie adaptations can be exaggerated, true, but in reality, we can see people driven mad with love which can lead them to commit crimes. Even the most powerful being in the world can be tamed with love. That’s the kind of power love holds. Furthermore, love should only be given to someone trusted and worthy. If an individual was to express their love towards someone who doesn’t care about them at all, then that individual is only giving more power to this person who is unworthy of their love. That can give them the power to even control that individual and use it for their own advantage.

Yes, the world is a corrupted place. But there is still a small light of hope that is smiling down at every one of us, ready to give us another chance if we were to make mistakes; love. Love is the only weapon one can need to conquer this world, and it is the only currency that is worthy of spending to bond with the right people. If one has love in their hearts, enough to share with the rest of the world, then that person is winning. Like the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said, “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage”.
