The ‘Rewrite Their Story’ project was a creative initiative organized by the community service Avenue of Rotaract Club of SLIIT, as part of the larger Phase 1 project aimed at promoting the Mental Health and well-being of children in schools. Ensuring the mental health and well-being of children in schools is critical for their overall development and academic success. Schools have a responsibility to provide resources and support to help children cope with stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges that may arise, so that they can reach their full potential.
The project ran from October 9th, 2022 to February 3rd, 2023 and was a physical event that saw fourteen young SLIIT Rotaractors participate. The event took place at Morning Star School in Dehiwala and ran from approximately 9:45am to 1:20pm.
Furthermore, this project was all about the mental health and well-being of young school children. So, when talking about this project it is about the mental health and well-being of children in schools is a critical issue that requires more attention and action. While schools are places where children learn and grow, they can also be a source of stress and anxiety for many students. It is essential that we take steps to address these challenges and promote positive mental health outcomes for all children in schools.
At this stage, the talented Rotaractors, decided to focus on the main topic which was education, along with mental health issues. The guest speaker for this wonderful project was Ms. Dilmi Weerasinghe. The volunteers did a great job, by making this event successful. So, this event was broken down into three sections; the first part was about all about the importance of education and mental health, the second part was about sharing our personal stories with the school children, regarding the troubles we faced, when we were about their age, addition to this some tips and pointers were also shared. The final part was the most interesting part among the school children, playing some entertaining games and activities, along with it they did some peaceful meditation to calm their both minds and souls.
The Rotaractors who participated in this mind-blowing informative session made it a huge success and made a huge everlasting impact on this topic in the minds of the school children of Morning Star School.
Rewrite Their Story’ නම් 2022 වසරේ දී ශ්රී ලංකා තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණික විශ්ව විද්යාලයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය විසින් දියත් කරන ලද තවත් එක් සමාජමය මෙහෙවරකි. පාසලක් තුල අධ්යාපනය ලබනා දරුවෙකුගේ උසස් මට්ටමේ අධ්යාපනික කුසලතා ලබා ගැනීමට දරුවාගේ යහපත් මානසිකත්වය ඉතා වැදගත් වන අතර ඒ සඳහා අවශ්ය වටපිටාව සහ සම්පත් ලබාදීම පාසලක වගකීම වේ. එමගින් දරුවන්ගේ මානසික පීඩනය, වියවුල් සහ අනිකුත් මානසික රෝගී තත්වයන්ගෙන් වැලකී ඔවුන්ගේ උපරිම දක්ෂතා අතරට පැමිණීමට අවශ්ය හැකියාව ලැබෙනු ඇත.
එබැවින් ළමුන්ගේ මානසික සෞඛ්ය ඉහළ නැංවීම අරමුණු කොටගෙන පළමු අදියෙරේහිම තවත් එක් අංගයක් ලෙසින් මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය 2022 ඔක්තෝබර් මස 9වනදා සිට 2023 පෙබරවාරි මස 3වනදා දක්වා පවත්වාගෙන යන ලදී. එහිදී යොවුන් රොටරැක්ට් සමාජිකයන් 14දෙනෙකුගේ දායකත්වය ලැබුණු අතර මෙම කර්තව්යය දෙහිවල Morning Star පාසලේදී උදෑසන 9.45 සිට දහවල් 1.20 දක්වා පැවැත්වන ලදී.
දරුවන්ගේ මානසික මට්ටම ඉහල නැංවීම අරමුණ කොට යෙදුණු මෙම මහඟු කර්තව්යය සාර්ථක කරගැනීම සඳහා ආරාධිත කථිකයා ලෙස සහභාගී වූ දිල්මි වීරසිංහ මෙනවිය සහ අනිකුත් සාමාජිකයින් විශාල දායකත්වයක් සපයනු ලැබුවා. තවද මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය මුලික වශයෙන් කොටස් 3කට බෙදුණු අතර එහි පලමු කොටස අධ්යාපනයේ වැදගත්කම සහ මානසික සෞඛ්ය පිළිබඳවත් දෙවන කොටස ලෙස ළමුන් සමඟ ඔවුන්ගේ වයසේදි මුහුණදුන් අධ්යාපනික දුෂ්කරතා සහ ඒවායින් මිදීමට භාවිත කරන ලද ක්රම පිළිබඳව පුද්ගලික අත්දැකීම් බෙදහදා ගැනීමත් සහ තෙවන සහ ආකර්ෂණීයම කොටස ලෙස ළමුන් සමඟ විනෝදජනක ක්රීඩා වල නිරත වීම සහ මානසික සුවය සඳහා භාවනා ක්රම කියදීමද මෙලෙස සිදු කරනු ලැබුවා.
මෙම කර්තව්යය සඳහා සහභාගි වු රොටරැක්ට් සමාජිකයන් ඇතුලු සියලුම පිරිස මෙය සාර්ථක කරගැනීමට මහඟු දායකත්වයක් සපයනු ලැබුවා.

இந்த கட்டத்தில், திறமையான ரோட்டராக்டர்கள், உலோக சுகாதார பிரச்சினைகளுடன் கல்வி பற்றிய முக்கிய தலைப்பில் கவனம் செலுத்த முடிவு செய்தனர். இந்த அற்புதமான திட்டத்திற்கு விருந்தினர் பேச்சாளர் எம்.எஸ். தில்மி வீரசிங்க. இந்நிகழ்ச்சியை சிறப்பாக நடத்திட தன்னார்வலர்கள் சிறப்பாக பணியாற்றினர். எனவே, அடிப்படையில் இந்த நிகழ்வு மூன்று பிரிவுகளாக பிரிக்கப்பட்டது; முதல் பாகம் கல்வி மற்றும் மன ஆரோக்கியத்தின் முக்கியத்துவத்தைப் பற்றியது, இரண்டாவது பகுதி பள்ளிக் குழந்தைகளுடன் நமது தனிப்பட்ட கதைகள், அவர்களின் வயதில் நாம் எதிர்கொள்ளும் பிரச்சனைகள், கூடுதலாகப் பகிரும் விடயங்கள் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளப்பட்டது.இறுதிப் பகுதி பள்ளி மாணவர்களிடையே மிகவும் சுவாரஸ்யமான பகுதியாக இருந்தது, சில பொழுதுபோக்கு விளையாட்டுகள் மற்றும் செயல்பாடுகளை விளையாடியது, அதனுடன் அவர்கள் தங்கள் மனதையும் ஆன்மாவையும் அமைதிப்படுத்த சில அமைதியான முறையில் தியானம் செய்தனர்.
இந்த மனதைக் கவரும் தகவல் அமர்வில் கலந்து கொண்ட ரோட்டராக்டர்கள் அதை மாபெரும் வெற்றியடையச் செய்தனர், மேலும் மார்னிங் ஸ்டார் பள்ளியின் பள்ளிக் குழந்தைகளின் மனதில் இந்தத் தலைப்பைப் பற்றிய மாபெரும் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தினார்கள்.
