Due to improper disposal of plastic and polythene, which were created for human use, the damage caused to our external environment is huge.  Hence, a signature initiative named Rethink Trash for environmental conservation with zero plastic usage, was organized by the Community Service Avenue  of Rotaract Club of SLIIT.

This is the first phase of the project for the RI 2022-23,  titled Rethink Trash as Rethink Trash has been actively engaged in cleaning activities and supporting the 3Rs concept of conservation since 2019.

The Project Chairpersons for the project Rethink Trash are Rtr. Pasindu Serasinghe and Rtr. Madhumini Gunarathne.  It was presided over by Rtr. Pasindu Serasinghe.  The planning of the project started on July 10, 2022.

Accordingly, the aim of this project was to collect plastic, polythene, tin, glass, paper and many other things and send them to the recycling centres.  This was held on July 30, 2022, near the Malabe area.  For this project, a group of 15 volunteers actively participated from 9 am to 12 pm.  Furthermore, we collected 6 bags of plastic, polythene, tin, glass, paper, etc. waste and handed them over to the Katukurunda recycling center for recycling.

In addition, we would like to appreciate all the Rotractors who contributed to the success of the project.  Also, until the new phase of Rethink Trash is launched, we will make sure that we dispose all non-degradable waste such as plastic and polythene properly.

මිනිස් භාවිතය උදෙසා නිර්මානය කරන ලද ප්ලාස්ටික්, පොලිතින් ආදිය නිවැරදි ලෙස බැහැර නොකිරීම හේතුවෙන් මේ වන විටත් අප බාහිර පරිසරයට සිදුව ඇති හානිය අති මහත් ය. එබැවින් ශුන්‍ය ප්ලාස්ටික් භාවිතයෙන් යුතු වූ පාරිසරික සංරක්ෂණයක් සඳහා වූ අත්සන් මුලපිරීමක් SLIIT Rotaract සමාජයේ ප්‍රජා සේවා ඒකකය විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන Rethink Trash නමින් දියත් කරන ලදි. 

මෙය මෙවර රොටරැක්ටර් වර්ශයේදී Rethink Trash නමින් සිදුකරනු ලබන පලවන අදීයරය යි. එනම් 2019 වර්ශයේ සිට Rethink Trash පිරිසිදු කිරීමේ කටයුතු වලට සක්‍රීයව යෙදී සිටින අතර සංරක්ෂණය සදහා 3Rs සහය විය. 

සමස්ත Rethink Trash ව්‍යාපෘතියම සංවිධානය කරන ලද්දේ Rtr. පසිඳු සේරසිංහ හා Rtr. මධුමිණී ගුණරත්න  විසිනි. මෙහි මුලසුන Rtr. පසිඳු සේරසිංහ මගින් සිදුකරනු ලැබිය. ව්‍යාපෘතියේ සැලසුම්කරනය 2022 ජූලි 10 වනදින ආරම්භ කෙරිනි. 

ඒ අනුව මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියේ අරමුණ වූයේ ප්ලාස්ටික්, පොලිතින්, ටින්, වීදුරු, කඩදාසි හා තවත් බොහෝ දේ එකතුකර ප්‍රතිචක්‍රිකරණ මධ්‍යස්තනයන් වෙත යොමු කිරීමයි. මෙය 2022 ජූලි 30 වන දින මාලබේ නගරය ආශ්‍රිතව සිදුකෙරිනි. මේ සදහා 15 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් කණ්ඩායමක් පෙරවරු 9 සිට පස්වරැ 12 තෙක්  පැවැත්විය. ඒ අනුව ප්ලාස්ටික්, පොලිතින්, ටින්, වීදුරු, කඩදාසි ආදි අපද්‍රව්‍ය සහිත බෑග් මලු 6ක් එකතු කර කටුකුරුන්ද ප්‍රතිචක්‍රිකරණ මධ්‍යස්තනයයේ ප්‍රතිචක්‍රිකරණය සදහා භාර දුනෙමු.

තව ද, ව්‍යාපෘතියේ සාර්ථකත්වය සඳහා ඔවුන්ගේ දායකත්වය ලබා දුන් සියලුම රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන් අගය කිරීමට අපි කැමැත්තෙමු. එමෙන්ම තව දුරටත් Rethink Trash හි නව අදීයරය ක් දියත් වන තුරු අප අපිට හැකි අයුරින් බැහැරකරන ප්ලාස්ටික්, පොලිතින් වැනි දිරාපත්වන නොවන අපද්‍රව්‍ය නිසි ලෙස බැහැර කිරීමට වග බලාගනිමු.

திட்டத்தின் வெற்றிக்கு பங்களித்த அனைத்து ரெட்ராக்டர்களையும் பாராட்ட விரும்புகிறோம். மேலும், ரீதிங்க் ட்ராஷ் (குப்பையை மறுபரிசீலனை செய்யுங்கள்) என்ற புதிய கட்டம் தொடங்கப்படும் வரை, பிளாஸ்டிக் மற்றும் பாலித்தீன் போன்ற மக்காத குப்பைகளை முறையாக அகற்றுவதை உறுதி செய்வோம்.
