How to write your first blog post?

This is the fifth Article of my blog post series, “Start a profitable blog in 7-days”. In the previous articles, I showed you how to set up your blog with WordPress and the importance of social media platforms. If you

haven’t check that out yet, then consider checking them out.

In this article, you will learn what you should keep in mind while writing your blog posts, and what you should do before publishing your blog post. So let’s get started with this article:

Write Your First Blog Post

When you write a blog post, it’s important to keep your readers in mind and create content that they will enjoy and learn from. The best way to do this is to write about topics that are related to your industry, or things that you know well.

To begin writing a blog post, first brainstorm the topic ideas you have. Once you have some ideas, narrow them down by choosing one that is more appealing than the others and seems like something your readers would enjoy reading about. Then, start writing!

The goal when starting out is not to create the most perfect blog post – it’s better to get started with something simple and grow as you go along with practice.

Here are few things you should keep in mind while writing your blog posts:

1. Keep It Original

It is important to make sure your blog posts are original and written by yourself. This is to avoid the risk of copyright infringement and plagiarism.
In some cases, people might post content from other sources. There are many reasons why people might do this, but the best course of action is to always make sure that the content you are posting comes from your heart and mind.

2. Make Sure It's Provides Value

Some blogs can be more successful than others, but one thing that will always lead to success is providing value.

People don’t want to read pointless content on their morning commute. They want content that is going to help them in some way. That could mean inspiring or motivating them; it could also mean teaching them new skills or giving them practical tips about something they are interested in.

So how do you provide value?

Think about what your readers need, what they want, and what they’re interested in. Look for ways to meet those needs and wants with the topics you cover on your blog posts so that people will find what you have written useful and beneficial for their lives.

3. Make Sure It's Engaging And Easy To Read

It is important to keep a conversational tone. Misdirecting readers can lead to lower conversions, as well as drop-in site traffic and ultimately an increase in bounce rates.

A blog is a great place to promote your business. You want to make sure that the blog posts you publish on your site are engaging and easy to read. Believe it or not, people are more likely to buy products from brands with blogs they enjoy reading.

Keep your blog posts short and sweet by staying on topic. If you have a lot of content, consider breaking up the post into smaller sections or including links to other relevant content on your site.

Use graphics in your blog posts for an additional visual element that will make it more enjoyable to read.

Publish Your First Blog Post

Once you have written your first blog post, it’s to publish it. But before you hit the publish button here are the few things you should do:

1. Optimize Your Blog Post For Search Engines (SEO)

Search engine optimization is a process of optimizing your website so that it ranks higher in search engine rankings.

The content on your website should not only be helpful to the reader but also contain keywords to increase your online visibility and improve search engine rank.

Search engines use different algorithms to rank websites, and these change all the time. It is impossible for a webmaster to optimize their site for all these algorithms, so the best way is to focus on a few and ignore the rest.

Achieving good organic rankings in Google requires expertise in link building, keyword research, content development, and social media marketing.

Here are some ways to optimize your blog post:

  • Create an attractive title for your post
  • Use keywords where appropriate
  • Include links to other pages on your site as well as to other sites that will give you good backlinks
  • Add photos, videos, and other images where appropriate

2. Proofread Your Article For Grammatical Errors

Proofreading is the process of examining a written document or piece of text for errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling. This process can be done by hand (i.e., using pen and paper) or with the help of computer-based editing tools.

Many people find that they are terrible at catching their own mistakes. And some people may be more prone to making certain mistakes than others are. Fortunately, there are several tools that can help you find your errors before you publish your blog post. For example, Grammarly is a popular tool that will catch many types of content errors and even suggests corrections for certain ones.

3. Check Your Blog Post For Plagiarism

Every writer knows that in the internet age, it’s easy to copy content and pass it off as your own. If you’re writing an article, blog post, or other work of original content, make sure your words are all yours by checking them against a plagiarism detector. There are many free online services that can quickly scan your text for duplicated sentences or phrases.

If you find a substantial amount of duplicate material on Google, you may want to rethink the title of the article and find a new angle to publish from. Internet users are becoming more aware of plagiarism and will be more likely to leave negative feedback if they notice you have copied someone else’s work.

4. Publish Your Blog Post

Last but not least, after you completed those tasks, then it’s time to finally publish your first blog post.

Set a relevant featured image, add tags, add your blog post under some categories that are relevant to your article’s topic, and then smash the publish button.
