Money Is Good But Don’t Let It Destroy You
Ghanaian counselor, Counselor Adofoli has advised social media users against giving themselves the chance for money to destroy them.
The renowned counselor gave this advise on his personal and official social media page on Facebook.
The message he gave his titled, ‘DON’T LET Money DESTROY YOU’ and it reads;
“Money is good, money makes, money creates, money is powerful and in some instances people say money is blood for you can’t do anything without it which is very true. Nobody can fully understand the role money plays.
Others see money as a bad thing, because of how it gives an advantage to those who have it and a lack of it disadvantages others. This is because of how people value money more than human lives. Many conclude money is evil, and if that is by any chance true then money is a necessary evil. An evil tool that everyone needs and everyone must have.
Who doesn’t want a beautiful house, who doesn’t want to drive a nice car, who doesn’t want to look good, who doesn’t want to eat good, who doesn’t want to access the best health care, who doesn’t want to have the latest gadgets or devices? These are not bad things, they are necessities in life and we all need them.
Money is just a tool to get these things. Money is just a device one holds in the hand and uses to carry out a particular function. The one holding the money has power and control over it. He or she dictates or instructs the tool. The one holding the tool tells the tool what to do and not vice versa.
It is rather unfortunate how many people see money as a master, where money controls them, dictates to them and tells them what to do. They value money more than humans. They make money their lord and master. They worship money. Such people can kill for money, such people can steal for money, such people can lie for money.
Don’t let money take the place of your creator (God), in your life. Put God first, worship him, don’t put money first, don’t worship money, or you end up destroying yourself. Don’t let money take the place of humans in your life. Love humans but use money. Don’t love money and use humans, that’s how you become Evil.
Money as a tool has three functions; save, give, spend. Whenever you get money remember it’s a tool. To use it effectively for the best results, you have to save some for future use, give some away to help others, spend the rest on your bills, expenses etc.
In conclusion, “So we should be well satisfied without money if we have enough food and clothing. But people who long to be rich soon begin to do all kinds of wrong things to get money, things that hurt them and make them evil-minded and finally send them to hell itself. For the love of money is the first step toward all kinds of sin. Some people have even turned away from God because of their love for it, and as a result have pierced themselves with many sorrows” – 1 Timothy 6:8-10 (TLB).”
