Fall : Scents of the Season

Happy Friday everyone ! It’s fall favorites and today it the scents of the holiday. With homemade candles and crockpot Potpourri .

Fall Potpourri (Crockpot)

  • orange slices
  • cinnamon sticks
  • whole cloves
  • 2 spring rosemary

Fill a small crockpot 3/4 full of water. Add oranges, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and rosemary. Set on high for 3 to 4 hours uncovered for potpourri to become heated and aroma develop.

Pumpkin Spice Candle

  • 2 cups of  soy wax (mine from Hobby Lobby)
  • 1 orange crayon (you can get cheap crayons at your local dollar store)
  • 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1  candlewick
  • pencil ,glue dot (hold wick)
  • glass Mason jar

Start by heating the soy wax flakes on low heat. Directly on the stove top works well, just be sure use a non-stick pot. Stir and Add orange crayon in pieces (make sure you peel off wrapper) and stir till melted. Add your spice mixture and stir. If you want a darker color add more crayons. Then take a clean jar and place a Glue Dot on bottom of wick and place in the middle. Then before adding wax – attach wick to pencil with glue dot to keep in place – pour in hot wax and let set up. Then remove pencil when hard and cut wick to size.

Pumpkin Candles for your table :

The process is simple: hollow out a mini pumpkin, melt some candle wax, and pour inside. And it has a side benefit: pumpkin seeds! We don’t usually eat these little pumpkins; they get used as decorations then tossed out with the Thanksgiving compost.

Tip: Never made candles before – try a candle kit it has everything you need. I bought mine from Hobby Lobby using my coupon . Lisa
