Welcome to my Weekend and this Saturday post is all about Birdhouse. I have a small collection of ones handmade and ones I bought,
Birdhouses:
What makes a good birdhouse?Birds’ needs are straightforward: food, water and shelter. Bird feeders and birdbaths help provide the first two. Birdhouses cater to a different clientele than backyard feeders. They provide shelter to cavity-nesting species, which for the most part eat insects and berries instead of seed.
Attracting Birds to Birdhouses
- Food:
- Water:
- Shelter:
- Bird-Friendly Landscaping: The best yards will incorporate bird-friendly landscaping that includes not only native plants, but also naturalized areas for birds to feel comfortable.
A friend made this one for me….
This is a great fun project to do with the kids:
- Empty half gallon milk carton
- Craft scissors
- Mod Podge
- Sponge paint brush
- Paint or stickers
- Glue gun
Clean out your container and carefully cut out you windows. Decorate how you want and seal the top. Coat with clear Mod Podge . And fill with bird seed and place a holder.
