Welcome to Tuesday Kids crafts ! Today’s topic : Earth Week
And we are recycling and Re using items :
2 Litter Bird Seed Feeder
- 2-liter plastic bottle
Twine or wire
1 set of chopsticks
Help your child wash the bottle to remove all labels. Dry it with a towel.Turn the bottle over. use scissors or a knife to cut or poke two small holes in the bottom of the bottle.Thread twine or wire through one hole and out the other. Loosely tie the twine or wire together to make a loop for hanging. The bottom of the bottle will become the top of the feeder.Cut or poke two holes on opposite sides of the bottle, three inches from the bottle cap. Make the holes just large enough for a chopstick to fit through this will be the bird perch.

Turn the bottle right-side up. Unscrew the cap and have your child place her finger on the outside of the bottle at the midway point, as you fill half of the bottle with birdseed. Replace the cap.7
Turn the bottle over. Tie the twine or wire around a tree limb or hang outside a window. Watch the birds that come to your feeder!
Bird Seed Ornaments :
- 1 cup of birdseed
- Spoon
- Cookie cutters, (Heart shaped)
- Ribbon
- Bowl and Spatula for mixing
- 2 spoonfuls of Coconut oil
- Straw
- Pan
Scoop the coconut oil into the bowl and melt it in the microwave .Pour in the birdseed and stir well.Scoop the birdseed into the cookie cutters. Place a straw, pencil,or pen in the bird seed to make a hole for the ribbon.Place the pan in the refrigerator to set. Ours took about 30 minutes to set. Once they set, string them with ribbon.
