A new Restaurant called Clara is expected to open at the New-York Historical Society (77th and CPW) in two weeks, taking the place of Storico, which closed in July.

Restaurant representatives met with Community Board 7‘s Business & Consumer Issues Committee to discuss their plans this week.

“It’s gonna be like classic American fare with an updated contemporary twist,” said Lola Loening, who’s opening the restaurant with Chef Diego Moya. “The food is a bit of reimagined classics of the turn of the century,” added Moya, who also indicated that it would be “a little bit of fine dining that is hopefully accessible to the community.”

Loening and Moya are from The Oberon Group, which currently operates four Brooklyn restaurants including June and Rucola. Moya was also the head chef at Racines.

The space will accommodate about 80 people and Loening says they’ve made minor changes to the layout and decor. There will be light background music and it will open for lunch at 11 a.m., serve dinner until 10 p.m., and open for weekend brunch at 10 a.m.

The board unanimously agreed to approve their liquor license application.

There is a website, claranyc.com, but there’s nothing on it yet.
