A Roundup of Outdoor Entertainment on the Horizon

Summer is in full swing and that means it’s time for some Outdoor fun. From family-friendly concerts to movie nights, the Upper West Side has no shortage of ways to enjoy the outdoors this season. Ahead, we’ve curated a list of some of these events.

The Hippo Playground Summer Concert Series kicks off on July 19 with additional shows on July 26, August 2, and August 9. All performances will take place at 3:30pm at the Hippo Playground at 91st street in Riverside Park. The event is completely free and each concert will feature a different kid-friendly performer for sing-and-dance-along fun. Follow the Hippo Playground on Instagram and Facebook for more information.

Nothing says summer in the city quite like evenings by the water. Summer on the Hudson, NYC Parks’ annual outdoor arts and culture festival in Riverside Park, is offering a mix of concerts, dance and theater performances, movies under the stars, kids shows, wellness activities and more. All programming is free to the public; see the whole lineup here.

Grand Bazaar (100 West 77th Street), NYC’s oldest and largest weekly shopping market, is hosting themed events all summer that you won’t want to miss out on. On July 16, enjoy artinsal ice cream vendors in celebration of National Ice Cream Day and on July 30, support over 160 women-owned businesses. The Bazaar also offers an end-of-season sale on September 3 with up to 50% off. See the full list of events here.
