Nawab Malik ED Raid 2022 :– Nawab Malik, a Maharashtra minister and NCP leader, is being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a case involving individuals associated to Dawood Ibrahim and the mafia. Since 8 a.m., the minister had been interrogated.
According to sources, Malik has been summoned to appear before the investigation agency in connection with a case involving underworld kingpin and fugitive terror financier Dawood Ibrahim, his brother Anees, Iqbal, aide Chota Shakeel, and others.

Former Maharashtra chief minister and BJP MLA Devendra Fadnavis had previously levelled claims against Nawab Malik, linking him to Dawood Ibrahim, and stated the central agencies will take action against him.
NCP head Sharad Pawar responded to the ED’s action against the NCP minister by saying that he was not shocked by the central agency’s measures against Nawab Malik, who has been vociferous about the misuse of central agencies.
“The ED action against Nawab Malik (Nawab Malik ED Raid) was done on purpose to smear his and his party’s reputation. When I was Maharashtra’s chief minister, some people levelled allegations linking me to Dawood Ibrahim, but the investigation found nothing. “The Union administration is using the same tactics through central agencies,” Sharad Pawar claimed.
They had expected the Union government to link Nawab Malik to some case or other in order to take action against him, according to Pawar. “Because Malik was speaking the truth, he is being pursued.”
The ED (Nawab Malik ED Raid) conducted the raid and took the Minister for questioning without any notice or summons, according to NCP state president Jayant Patil. “This is just a case of central agencies being abused.” Malik was outspoken in his criticism of the Union government’s policies and the misuse of authority granted in central agencies. That is why he has been singled out. “We’ll keep fighting,” Patil added.
NCP leader Supriya Sule also stated that the ED’s action against Nawab Malik did not surprise her. She claimed that the entire world understood why the ED went to Nawab Malik’s house early in the morning to question him.
“Why is it that the ED (Nawab Malik ED Raid) is just going for the BJP’s political opponents?” Why isn’t there any action taken against BJP leaders who have many cases pending with the ED? It demonstrates that if you work for the ED, you will not face any consequences. The central agencies will target you if you speak out against them. “Today, this is a well-kept secret,” Sule remarked.
Sanjay Raut, the head of the Shiv Sena, stated that they are willing to give their life to combat the misuse of central power and central agencies. “The BJP will not be in power indefinitely. The shift will occur in 2024, according to Raut.
Sudhir Mungantiwar, a BJP leader, said that if Nawab Malik has done nothing illegal, he and the NCP should not be concerned.
The ED raids were in response to the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) recent filing of a case against Dawood Ibrahim, which prompted the ED to file an ECIR and begin an investigation. After establishing that Dawood had been spreading terror across India, the NIA filed a case against him under the UAPA. According to NIA officials, Ibrahim funnelled money through Hawala methods to fund those working for him to foment unrest across India.
The FBI is looking into Nawab Malik’s dealings with Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Sardar Shahvali Khan and Haseena Parakrs bodyguard Salim Patel.
According to opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis, Malik bought the property worth crores from Khan and Patel for about Rs 30 lakhs. Officials from the ED are also investigating into Malik’s and his associates’ other business operations. According to sources, the CIA has major evidence against Malik and could take action against him.
