The temperature yesterday was so cool (60 degrees) that I had to wear a jacket to work over my normal shorts and short sleeve shirt. Oh how I miss working in the greenhouse in cooler weather. It’s been so hot recently that I’ve been daydreaming about Autumn while watering the flowers, and Autumn can’t come soon enough..

I can’t wait for fuzzy pajamas, warm wool sweaters, and a big cup of hot tea in my hands in the morning. I’m yearning for the sound of crunchy leaves under my feet again, and the feel of the cold autumn breeze that blows through my hair and sends shivers down my spine.

I’m ready for pumpkin and apple spice to come back. I’m ready for the color’s orange, gold, red, and brown to be everywhere! And I’m ready to open the windows and let the cool air filter in, while I wrap up in a warm blanket, and watch Practical Magic.

I can’t wait to decorate for Autumn. Pumpkins and Fall leaves will litter the house and Halloween will be ever present in the decor. Outside, the gardens we have worked so hard on will finally be ready to harvest, and the greenhouse I work in will have pumpkins and mums galore! Farmers markets will be filled with corn, squash, pumpkins, apples, and more goodies than anyone can dream of.

People will gather together around a warm fire to enjoy what the season has brought them. Sunflowers will be in full bloom and ready to pick for their seeds soon. And there is a type of magic in the air as we get closer to Hallows Eve and the Fall Equinox.

I know we’re still very much in summer. The fact that I have to wear shorts to work and bring a fan and a cool rag with me reminds me that every morning when I check the temperatures outside. But boy am I wishing for a little Autumn right now…

I just recently found my new favorite YouTube channel the other day called ‘Quiet in the Land’, and if you’re ever dreaming of a season, this girl can deliver! I’ve been watching her Autumn videos on repeat for the last few days while I do dishes or cleaning around the house, and even now I’ve got it on in the background while I’m writing.
