Chaitra Navratri 2022 : Ghatasthapana i.e. the date of establishment of the urn –

Ghatasthapana is performed on the first day of Navratri. It is believed that by establishing the Kalash by law, the mother removes all the troubles from the lives of the devotees. Ghatasthapana is performed on the first day of Navratri, which is also known as Kalash Sthapana. Ghatasthapana on the first day has special significance.

With the establishment of the Kalash on the Pratipada date, the nine-day long Navratri festival begins. On the first day, worship of Shailputri, the first form of mother, along with worship of Lord Ganesha, aarti and hymn is done while doing Ghatasthapana by law.

Chaitra Navratri 2022: Date and Time

According to the Hindu calendar, Chaitra Navratri begins from the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month.

This year, Chaitra Navratri is from Saturday, April 02, 2022, to Monday, April 11, 2022.

Pratipada Tithi will start at 11:53 am on Friday, April 01, 2022, and end at 11:58 am on Saturday, April 02, 2022.

All nine days during Navratri are dedicated to nine forms of Goddess Shakti. Chaitra Navratri is more popular in northern India.

Ghat installation method –

• First of all, on the Pratipada date of Chaitra Navratri, take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes.
• After which furnish the place of Goddess with the help of padya, red clothes, akshat, flowers, incense, lamp, naivedya, wreath etc.
• Now by worshiping Ganapati and Matruka, establish a Ghat or Kalash.
• Now to make the shape of nine goddesses, dissolve ocher in water on a wooden plank.
• Apart from this, Singh Vahini can also install an idol of Durga.
• Then wrap a Kalava and place it on the Kalash in the form of Ganesha.
• Keep a vessel of wheat or barley near the Ghat.
• Now worship Varuna and invoke Maa Bhagwati by law.
