After a lot of deliberations made by the Govt of India, 96 countries across the world have finally agreed to recognize the Indian Vaccine Certificate offered by AstraZeneca and Bharat Biotech. The move would benefit thousands of Indians who have either of the two Indian vaccines, Covishield, or Covaxin. The announcement about the same has been recently made by the Union Health Ministry in a statement.

The 96 countries that have mutually agreed to recognize the Vaccine Certificate of fully vaccinated travelers from India include most of the countries of Europe and South East Asia. One of the major countries that have refused to recognize the Bharat Biotech-made Covaxin is Canada. However, Bharat Biotech has already submitted an application to the Canadian High Commission with all the evidence and data related to the clinical trial of the vaccine.

In a statement issued by the Union Health Ministry, it has been stated that those who have been vaccinated, travelers who would like to travel abroad, could download their International Vaccine Certificate from the Cowin portal.
