One of the most renowned athletes of the country, Milkha Singh has passed away at the age of 91. He was suffering from Covid19 and finally succumbed to it. His wife, a former Indian volleyball captain had also died five days back fighting the battle against the virus.

Several prominent personalities like the Prime Minister took to Social Media to express their grief over the loss of the legendry sportsperson. In his post, the Prime Minister has termed Milkha as a “colossal sportsperson who captured the nation’s imagination”. Some of the other politician who has written a note of condolence in memory f the legendry sports person includes home minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, etc.

Bollywood has also expressed their grief over the death of the legendry athlete. Several Bollywood celebrities have also taken to their respective social media profile to share a message of condolence at the loss. Amongst the celebrities who have paid tribute to the legend through social media include Shah Rukh Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, and Tapasee Pannu, etc.
