The piece below appears to be another report of some sort for school similar to last weeks planet origin story but that is ok. It just goes to show that often had to write reports and papers just like many of us in school. I actually have always loved learning using the old encyclopedia Brittanica as my source since we didn’t have the internet in those days. I guess this is a history project based on the title and subject matter, but none the less an important topic for anyone to know. Even today we can forget these incredible figures in our U.S. History.
Welcome to this Weeks Weekly Feature number #18, Stories from a child’s past, Stories unearthed from my childhood. These stories I am sharing as a young child I had and continue to have a love for writing.
The writings so far seemed to be when I was in between the ages of ten to thirteen. Many of the examples I provided do have typos, run on sentences and grammatical errors so don’t be surprised if see those.

Adams, John (1735-1826) guided the young United States through some of the most serious troubles. He served under George Washington as the first Vice President and followed him as the second president. The United States government moved from Philadelphia to Washington D. C during Adams administration and become the first president to live in the white house Adams played a leading role in the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and was a signee of the historic document.
As president Adams fought a slit in his own party over the determination to avoid war with France he kept the peace, but in the process his second term as president Adams was succeeded by Thomas Jefferson in appearance, Adams was short and stout with a ruddy complexion. John Adams was born in Braintree (now Qunicy) Mass on Oct 30, 1735 (the day was October 19 by the calendars then in use) his father was a farmer.
Adams graduated from Harvard college in 1755 ranking 14 in a class of 24 he began in 1958 to practice law in Braintree 10 years later he moved to Baslon. Abraham Lincoln the sixteen president of the United States had many nick names as a young man. Lincoln and friends borrowed money to buy a store after only a few months the store went out of business then Lincolns friend died Lincoln worked long and hard to pay back all the money himself he finally did, this helped him get the nickname “Honest Abe” another nickname was Rail Splitter this name recalled the days when as a young man Lincoln had split logs to make the railroad.
Lincoln became president in 1861 soon war began between northern and southern states one long bloody was between the north and south and Lee commanded an army for the south his men. Lee was made general of southern armies, but it was too late there was one way the south could win on April 9, 1865, Lee was forced to give up and Lee said a sad farewell to his soldiers.
Lee did his best to bring the north and south together again he wanted. Lee spent his remaining years as president of Washington College in Lexington, Wyoming after he died the college renamed Washington and Lee University in the honor Lee was buried in the college chapel sometimes called the Shrine of the south. The chapel is visited by thousands of people each year on Stone Mountain near the city of Atlanta Georgia there is huge carving of these men which of which Lee riding on his horse.
Synopsis
This is actually more of a biography of John Adams , the signing of the declaration of Independence and the beginning of our nation the United States. It transitions into Abe Lincoln and the war between the south and north with introduction of General Lee. There are some tidbits of Abe’s life as to how he got his nick names and the remaining days of General Lee.
What Was the Purpose
This story or autobiography of John Adams, Abe Lincoln and Lee could have been a report I did for school, but it’s ungraded. I do remember I would choose topics of interest and just write about them because there was an interest and if there something that I just need to write I wrote.
I guess I have always had a fascination with history although now a days I can not remember much. I feel regardless I must have wrote this for some reason and it should be part of my collection even if its just about history. I do have another partially completed about Walt Disney, which shows my interest in outside subjects aside from creative.
Some of my handwriting was not very eligible so I tried the best to transcribe it to my abilities, maybe you can make better sense of my writing if you have a better eye for it.
I am really getting down to a few more stories I have written a as child, I have a few partially complete stories, parts in the which were misplaced or lost, you shall soon see. My apologies for the delay in recent blogs, I have been working two jobs and my time has been drastically cut.
