Epic annouced a new Fortnite Subscription called Fortnite Crew. This subscription starts with the launch of Chapter 2 Season 5.

It costs $11.99 a month and includes 1000 V-Bucks monthly, the full season’s Battle Pass and a unique subscribers only skin bundle which is referred to as the Crew Pack. This bundle consists of a new skin and a minimum of one matching accessory. You can buy this subscription in the Item Shop or at the screen to purchase the Battle Pass.

This is certainly an interesting concept and certain avid Fortnite players will pay to get access the exclusive perks that will be only be provided to subscribers. Epic’s has a winning formula with this subscription and a huge base of players for it’s flagship game to turn this into a significant source of revenue.

However the question how many players in the end will purchase the Fortnite Crew ? While a lot players do spend money purchasing the Battle Pass for the entire season, this is still different from a monthly subscription as the Pass is a one time purchase. Each player will have to decide if it is worth it to purchase this subscription considering the fact the Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks which is approximately $8.00 and once you complete it you can earn 1200 V-Bucks which is about $12.00. Besides the Battle Pass this subscription also offers the new subscribers only skin. However what happens if players don’t like the skin, in that case would the Fortnite Crew be considered a waste of money.
