Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Brownies Recipe Notes And Tips

  • Draining and drying the strawberries is a very important step with this recipe. If you do not pat dry, the moisture from the strawberries will change the texture of your brownie and chocolate covering.
  • When chopping the strawberries, the size of the chop is completely your preference. You might prefer quartered or halved will work well. There is no wrong way to do this. 😉
  • If you have a favorite made from scratch brownie recipe, by all means use what you like best!

Variations of Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Brownies To Try

  • Change up the flavor to your taste by using mint chocolate chips, white chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter or dark chocolate.
  • Pretty it up! Add some sprinkles, pearls or small heart shaped candies to the top. I would wait to add the sprinkles until the chocolate topping has cooled for about 10 minutes in the refrigerator. Then place back in fridge to complete the cooling process.
  • Instead of strawberries, try blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries. They’re all definitely ideas for a delicious change worth trying. I personally prefer the red berries in this recipe! 😉 Be sure to wash and completely dry the berries.

FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about this Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Brownie recipe. If you don’t see your question below, please leave it in the comments so I can answer it!

Can I use frozen strawberries in this recipe?

I would not recommend using frozen strawberries in this recipe. Frozen strawberries hold in lots of moisture. When they thaw out, they would produce too much juice for this recipe.

If heavy cream is not available, what else can I use?

If you have regular cream, that should work as well.

How long will my Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Brownies keep in the fridge?

They will keep for up to 2 days in the refrigerator stored in an air-tight container. Please note that this dish is best eaten fresh.

After a day or so the strawberries will soften as they begin to lose moisture which will change the texture of your dessert.

Can I freeze Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Brownies?

I would not recommend freezing this dish because the berries will get mushy.

However, if you do, you can keep them frozen for up to 3 months. I would eat them slightly thawed so they do not become too mushy or watery when completely thawed.

Can I double this recipe?

Absolutely! Super easy to do. You could also buy the brownie mix that works in a 9 x 13-inch pan then just add more strawberries and make a double batch of the chocolate topping. YUM
