The reality show has also been placing number one in the 16-to-39 age group.

Meanwhile, on Friday night the games were beaten in the ratings by Midsomer Murders, Better Homes and Gardens and The Chase Australia.

A TV expert recently criticised Married at First Sight for airing controversial and racy content for ratings.

Colin Vickery said the Channel Nine dating show is popular because it addresses risqué topics such as pegging and periods.

‘Some of that content a decade ago you couldn’t put on until 9.30pm. It’s one of those shows that’s always fed off controversy and racy content,’ he told the Herald Sun on Thursday.

‘The issue with the show in a sense is it has to keep upping its game. Pushing the envelope to try and keep people watching.’

Mr Vickery said the show is becoming more risqué every year because ‘the formula is working’.

It comes after Andrew Davis revealed ‘pegging’ was the one act he won’t perform in the bedroom on Tuesday night.

The Texas-based fitness trainer, 38, admitted to his ‘wife’ Holly Greenstein, 36, he’s had 350 sexual partners.

He then confessed that while the NSW cinema manager could ‘benefit’ from his experience, there is one thing he won’t do – pegging.

For those not in the know, pegging is a sexual activity involving a sex toy.

Married At First Sight continues on Channel Nine, Monday, 7.30pm
