Tommy Egan is the funny, loyal, rugged, streetsmart protector we all know and love from the hit show Power! Joseph Sikora did such a convincing job as Tommy that he is deservingly starring in his own Power spin-off series, and I’m all for it!

The street’s favorite white boy now has his spinoff series Power Book IV: Force, and I couldn’t be more excited for it! Therefore, today, we will take a look back at some of Tommy Egan’s best moments on Power. So without further ado, let’s get started!

1.

Tommy teaches Tariq a lesson in the game.

}

Starz

Following some intel from Lakiesha, Tommy meets Tariq on a rooftop to further discuss the product stolen from his warehouse. Tariq denies any participation in the act, but after Tommy applied pressure to Tariq, he admitted to stealing the drugs. As a result, Tommy decides to teach his Godson a lesson. Tommy hangs Tariq over the roof and scares the hell out of him before putting Tariq back on his side of the ledge. Tommy then tells Tariq, “This is the game, every f****** moment of your life if you ain’t pushing you falling” before disowning and turning his back on him. Tommy could have killed him and even tells Tariq that he has killed people for less. Although it was an act of mercy, it was also a lesson for Tariq to show him the potential dangers of the game he is trying to get into and if he thinks he’s ready for that. It was fantastic to see that even though Tommy had to wash his hands of Tariq, he still gave him one more lesson on his way out the door.

2.

Tommy isn’t afraid of anyone.

}

Starz

Tommy isn’t afraid of anyone, and that includes the boogeyman and his lifelong best friend, Ghost. As Ghost accuses Tommy of killing Anibal against his orders, Tommy doesn’t have it. The two grab each other by the collar and get in each other’s faces. Tommy goes to toe with Ghost mano y mano and lets him know that not only did he not do the deed, but he raises his fist to Ghost’s face as he considers hitting him in the face for even thinking that he would do something so disloyal. Convinced that Tommy is telling the truth, Ghost lowers his guard and even fixes Tommy’s collar for him. The two embrace each other in a hug before they agree that Ruiz has to go. This interaction proves that Tommy is still the most loyal character in the show and is as real as they come, no matter who is questioning him.

3.

Tommy is a real one.

}

Starz

During Ghost’s trial, he gives Tommy a call as he’s hitting the heavy bag. Ghost asks Tommy to help him, and without hesitation, he asks him what he needs him to do. Ghost asks if he can take care of his family, and Tommy responds, “I got you, I’ma handle everything; you keep your head up in there.” This is the ultimate loyalty in the streets. When a business associate gets arrested and is facing jail time, especially if it’s a life or death sentence, it is street code to look after your affiliate’s family if they have one. Tommy proves how loyal and ride or die he is when he lets Ghost know that his family will be taken care of if something happens to him.

4.

“I thought I cooked him medium rare.”

}

Starz

Tommy and Ghost’s drug organization was under attack, and they didn’t know who was doing the hits. Therefore, Tommy kidnapped a henchman to get information, hoping he could get some intel. To get the henchman to talk, Tommy tortured him by burning him severely. During the torturing, Tommy accidentally kills the henchman. Tommy’s response to burning the henchman is, “I thought I cooked him medium rare,” and he again successfully brings his hilarious humor to a usually dark situation.

5.

Tommy “Scarface” Egan drops Proctor.

}

Starz

In one of Tommy’s best scenes, he confronts betrayer Joe Proctor, terminator style. Proctor is supposed to testify against Tommy, so after hearing about this betrayal, he officially has the valid reasoning he’s been looking for to kill him. Therefore on the same night that Egan kills Maria Suarez, Tariq leaves the backdoor open as directed by his uncle Tommy to have access to the home. Like Scarface, Tommy uses a machinegun to shoot up the place before ultimately massacring Proctor. Although the scene was quite sad due to his daughter being parentless, it was another display of Tommy’s badass.

6.

Tommy kills Nomar.

}

Starz

Tommy is probably the best assassin on Power and carries the bulk of the humor in the shows, even during his kills. He is not shy to throw in a joke before doing the deed, such as his hit on Nomar Arciello. Nomar was a federal informant for Angela Valdez and a soldier in the Saldado Nation. It was discovered that Nomar was involved in an inappropriate relationship with Isabel Ruiz, daughter of Saldado Nation leader Carlos “Vibora “Ruiz. As requested by Ruiz, Tommy successfully hunts and kills Nomar stabbing him many times, but before doing so, he utters in a comical voice, “Hey, you like **** little girls, huh.” Further displaying a humorous tone in a dark situation before committing the violent act.

7.

Tommy’s final goodbye to Ghost.

}

Starz

It’s not a secret that Ghost and Tommy had their differences, but at the end of the day, the love was always there, and they still had each other’s back. Because of the show’s success, Tommy and Ghost have cemented themselves in cinematic history as one of the most iconic dynamic duos of all time. Therefore it was no shock to see that when Ghost was on the floor of Truth laying there shot and bleeding out, all Tommy saw was his childhood best friend severely hurt, and all their issues went out the window. Filled with tears in his eyes, the lifelong friend’s past issues disappeared as Tommy cradled his brother Ghost in his arms as he lay dying. As one of the saddest endings in television history, this moment was significant considering everything Tommy and Ghost have been through together, from young boys to adulthood. None of the drama mattered, and all they had all along was each other when it comes down to it.

8.

Tommy kills Sam Weaver.

}

Starz

Tommy pretends to be a potential home buyer before slowly revealing his sinister plot. At first, Sam denies all allegations before unremorsefully admitting that not only are the molestation accusations true, but he says that Holly asked for it, meaning she wanted him to do what he did to her. Still very much in love with Holly, Tommy loses it and hits him in the face knocking Sam to the ground. Arguably, Tommy’s most gruesome kill, he continuously bashes his head in with a baseball bat as he is on the floor. Tommy does this on Holly’s behalf due to her uncle psychologically destroying her, and he did it to redeem himself because he feels like he owed it to her.

9.

Tommy Kills Poncho.

}

Starz

Tommy states that he knows he promised the product, but currently, he has some issues with his shipment, and the crew will need to wait a little longer. Poncho doesn’t want to hear that and tells Tomy that he has mouths to feed and needs the product now. Tommy reiterates that he’s having difficulties, and there’s nothing he can do at the moment. Poncho then begins the disrespect and starts going in on Tommy about how he has yet another problem. This lack of product is the reason the leader of the Salado nation stopped dealing with Tommy’s organization previously in the first place. 2bit suggests that Poncho chill out, but he refuses and yells “F**** this Pendejo” to Tommy. Then Tommy pulls out his gun and tells Poncho to sit down, but Poncho refuses and proceeds to tell Tommy that he is nothing without Ghost. As we are aware, being compared to Ghost is a trigger for Tommy, so immediately, Tommy shoots Poncho in the head, killing him on the spot. That’ll teach him to disrespect Power‘s favorite bad boy.

10.

Tommy looks like Eminem.

}

Starz

This scene is funny because right away, Tommy gets out of the car complaining as if someone burnt his Starbucks coffee. Immediately he opens the car door and exits the uber as he yells at the driver, “Who takes the Queensborough bridge this time of day? I’m giving you one star”. The Uber driver responds, “f*** you Eminem looking f***,” as Tommy stands outside the car. Tommy then replies, “Now I’m giving you negative stars, keep testing me.” Unbothered by the comment, the Uber driver yells back, “Test these nuts, Marshall,” before pulling off. Tommy calls Tariq, and comically, he sincerely thanks him for setting up the Uber ride before genuinely telling him to make sure Riq gives the Uber driver negative stars in a really “Karen-like” fashion. This exchange is so humorous because we never really saw that side of Tommy where he’s whining about something so small simultaneously being so forgiving of disrespect from the driver. We all know Tommy kills people for less, so this Uber driver should consider himself lucky. The scene is also hilarious because we were all thinking it; Tommy does look A LOT like Eminem. Therefore, it was meta and cool for Power producers to shine a light on the resemblance in the show.

11.

Tommy runs over Domingo with his own car.

}

Starz

This is one of Tommy’s funniest and most gangsta moments. While Domingo is smoking a blunt in his car on a side street, Tommy sneaks upon him as he exhales his first puff and pulls a gun on him, pointing it directly in his face. Tommy proceeds to tell him to get out of the car just before Domingo tries apologizing to him. Tommy interrupts Domingo and tells him to shut up before psychically pulling him out of his vehicle. With the gun still in Domingo’s face, Tommy then tells Domingo to run and that he will even give him a head start. Domingo is reluctant to move, so Tommy aggressively says, “Did I stutter? run mother”f*****” Domingo finally starts running as Tommy jokingly starts counting, “1, 2 10. ready or not, here I come”. With a smile on his face and Lionel Richie’s I’m easy like a Sunday morning playing in the background, he mows down Domingo with his car in hilarious fashion. Chuckling as he does it, Tommy puts the car in reverse and runs Domingo over again before sarcastically asking him if he’s okay. With the vehicle now directly on Domino’s legs, crushing him, Tommy adds insult to injury for his betrayal by making him ask nicely to get the car off of him, iconic.

12.

Tommy’s Quickdraw moment.

}

Starz

While on his way out of town, Tommy runs into Spanky. Although he is aware of Spanky’s betrayal and informing him to get out of jail, Tommy acts like nothing was wrong and they were still cool. Spanky starts overexplaining how he got out of jail before Tommy reveals he’s leaving town to create a new life during their conversation. Spanky then asks where to, in which Tommy replies, “I’ll tell ya, but then I gotta kill ya, California.” Before we know it, Tommy puts a bullet right through Spanky’s eye in the most Clint Eastwood way possible. The kill was quick and shocking, considering it was the middle of broad daylight, standing as one of the best Tommy Egan kills to date.

13.

“I’ma cancel Christmas on yo ass.”

}

Starz

Every time Tommy says, “I’ma cancel Christmas,” you know he will go full FORCE (pun intended) at killing someone, and it was a wrap for whoever he is saying that to. Ghost calls Tommy to put their differences aside to take Jason down together. Instead, Tommy denies his offer and tells Ghost to go f*** himself before also stating, “And the next time I see you, I’ma cancel Christmas on yo ass.” Not only did that cement the phrase, but it also showed that Tommy is too genuine to work with someone he perceives as a snake, even if it’s said person is his lifelong best friend/partner Ghost and even if they have similar agendas.

14.

Tommy aint no snitch.

}

Starz

Even the pressure of his mother, who happens to be the most important person in his life, potentially losing everything is not enough to make Tommy Egan turn snitch. The feds threaten his mother and question Tommy once he is in prison with all of his assets frozen, how will his mother be able to pay for her medical bills and house payments? They mention that she will 100 % lose it all unless he talks, which Tommy’s lawyer Joe Proctor advises is valid if it proved he provided everything for her illegally. Kate Egan frantically tells Tommy to tell them everything the feds want to know in fear of losing her whole livelihood. Tommy still refuses, curses his mother out, and tells her to stop talking before saying, “If you don’t know nothing about me, you should know this. I ain’t never going to be no f****** snitch, not for you, not for nobody”. Now that’s cold-blooded.

15.

Tommy and Lakiesha sex scene.

}

Starz

We all witnessed Tommy go through a highly toxic relationship with Holly, so it was a breath of fresh air when he hooked up with Lakiesha. Lakiesha was loyal, intelligent, business savvy, and a straight-up badass; she is the perfect match for Tommy. Therefore when it was time for Tommy and Lakiesha’s sex scene, the world went into a frenzy. Not only was the scene hot and heavy, but it was also a relief to see Tommy happy and with a good woman, especially since all of his bad experiences with Holly.

That’s all folks!
