Personal trainer and mother Kayla Itsines has shared her favourite 12-minute post Christmas Workout complete with burpees, reverse lunges and planks. 

The 30-year-old, from Adelaide, South Australia, demonstrated the ‘express’ workout in a video posted to Instagram on December 26.

‘Now you might hear “express” and think that makes this workout easy – but I guarantee you the name of this workout is telling the truth!’ She captioned the clip. 

Fitness guru, Kayla Itsines has shared her express post-Christmas work out that’s less than 15 minutes long and you only need a mat and skipping rope

Kayla said all you need is a mat and a skipping rope for the full body workout that includes a series of one minute circuits.

The fitness guru starts her first circuit by doing reverse lunge and knee ups for 40 seconds and commando and shoulder taps for 20 seconds and repeats three times.

In the second circuit, Kayla completes five laps of bent and straight leg jack-knives for 30 seconds, burpees for 20 seconds and 10 seconds worth of lateral shoot throughs.

Kayla’s post-Christmas express workout involves a series of one minute circuits

1. Reverse Lunge & Knee Up – 40 secs

Commando & Shoulder Tap – 20 secs

Complete 3 laps

2. Alternating Bent & Straight Leg Jackknife – 30 secs

1 & 1/2 Burpee – 20 secs

Lateral Shoot Throughs – 10 secs

Complete 4 laps

3. Skipping – 30 secs

Plank – 30 secs

Complete 5 laps

Finally in her third circuit she switches between skipping and planking for 30 seconds each five times.

‘Just finished your express boost workout this morning! Just what I needed on Boxing Day,’ one woman wrote. 

‘I’m stuck in my room in quarantine because I got Covid, thank god I feel fine and I’m ready to smash it! Can’t stay in bed all day,’ said another.
