Today I was listening to a sermon by Pastor Emmanuel Iren and he said ‘you’re Expressive for the things that really matter to you’.

He explained further on how you’d say you’re a certain way, yet when it’s something you love or you’re passionate about, you know how to be expressive.

A good example that comes to mind (which Pastor Iren has also talked about in one of his sermons) is how in church, you’re not expressive, you don’t dance, you don’t open your mouth to pray, there are no expressions when you worship and you would say that’s how you are. Whereas, if your favorite team scores a goal or wins, we see that ‘reserved’ you begin to jump or express yourself. It simply shows you’re expressive to the things that matter to you, the things you care about.

Here’s another example I just thought of. If you’re in Nigeria, you know that elections are around the corner (next year). You see people talk about their choice candidate for the elections and encourage people to vote and get their permanent voter’s card (PVC). Maybe you are also outspoken about that as well on your socials. Yet when it comes to preaching the gospel, you’re shy, you’re not that outspoken. It might just be that you haven’t started carrying the gospel on your head as much as you do with asking people to vote.

I’m not judging you or anything like that, this is also for me as well. All I’m saying is that you’re really expressive for the things that truly matter to you. Whether it’s a project, your family, God, your boyfriend/girlfriend, your car, money etc.

I can give more examples but I think you get the idea now. If you don’t, maybe you should think about it some more.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. See you in the comments and see you tomorrow.

Remember, be a light in your space
