If the price is right you would always choose Balcony stateroom over inside or ocean view, right? Sounds like a deal, but not always you getting what expected, it’s always looks nice in the travel agent brochure but not all balcony staterooms equal, and sometimes you will spend extra money and will disappointed with what you get. To avoid this here few most common things you need to take into consideration when booking balcony stateroom:
Lack of Privacy
Be aware that a lot of balconies on a cruise ships offer very little privacy. Some of them could be overseen from the upper deck, some from the Bridge. If you need privacy check with you travel Agent to make sure you get right one.
To Small
Especially on a new megaships there quite a lot of staterooms with super small balconies; where chairs barely can fit. Always check size of you balcony before booking.
Obstructed View
It could be anything, from ship lifeboats to support poles, metal platforms or frames. If you getting good price for obstructed view, always check – how obstructed is it? What exactly obstructing the view?
To little or too much sun
Some of the balconies could be exposed to much to the sun, others always in shade. See if there any platforms, Bridge wings or anything else obstructing the view.
That’s would be most important things to look into when booking balcony cabin. If you spending extra money, spare some time to do some research and enjoy your cruise!
Bon Voyage!
