5 Brilliant ways to Increase your dog's lifespan.

I'm pretty darn sure that you want your furry friend to live a life as long as the famous Ol' Bluey, the world known oldest dog that lived for a whopping 29 years. I personally don't believe that smaller breeds live longer than the larger breed because I think it's unfair to confirm a dog's lifespan. After all, if Ol' Bluey can do it, why can't your doggie. Before you continue reading the whole article , I would like you to join me to a moment of silence for Ol' Bluey.

5 Brilliant Ways to Increase Your Dog's Lifespan

Healthy Diet

Like always, the key to an eternal life is the diet consumed. A research conducted in 2011 shows that  dogs who were fed with a low calorie diet lived an average of two years longer than normal. Ideal dogs should have about 20% body fat or 80% lean weight. You can calculate your dog's ideal weight here Dogs ideal weight calculator.. An average dog should be fed only 2 times a day with snack time in between. When feeding your dog, avoid generic meat byproducts, sugars and excess sodium. Obese dogs are prone to be diagnosed with joint pain and heart diseases.

Regular Exercise.

With the right exercise and time, your dog might just live for many years more. Exercising not only benefits your dog but also helps you live longer as it lowers stress, balances mood and increase endorphins. Besides maintaining an ideal weight for your dog and keeping his cardiovascular system in shape, a healthy dog is a happy dog. With that being said, you can hover from various exercises like long walks or maybe even a jog. You can up your game by building your very own obstacle course for your pooch and reward him every time he uses it. If you're thinking of bulking up your dog's muscle mass, you can even try to buy doggie weights for him to pull. Take the Vet's Advice

I bet your dog is as fit as a fiddle. However, vet visits as frequent as once a month should be scheduled because there are many diseases which can only be spotted internally. There are many cancers that can only be spotted in your dog when treatments are not a hope. The earlier the disease is spotted, the higher the chances of survival. Also, don't forget your dog's vaccines. Vaccinations are a great way to prevent the unwanted creepers from creeping on your pooch. Your dog will be examined both physically and mentally to ensure optimal health.

Spay or Neuter

Spaying is only operated on female dogs whereas neutering is only operated on male dogs. Pet owners usually spay or neuter their dogs to maintain the dog population and prevent reproduction. But, what most dog owners do not know is that spaying or neutering can increase their dog's lifespan. Alike humans, dogs can also be diagnosed with reproductive organs diseases. Some of these includes cancer and infections. Besides, dangerous infections can spread from other dogs when your dog mates with them. The last thing you want to avoid is your dog getting infections after mating.

Filter your Dog's Drinks

You might think your dog's water is completely clean just as it looks like. NO, YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY WRONG!!!!! I think you should consider figuring out what is in your dog's water. Most bottled waters and tap waters are contaminated with microorganisms and even suspended particles that can pose a big threat for your pooch if drank. So how do you remove these contaminates? It's surprisingly simple as you're not gonna do anything. You just leave it to the water filter. It would be recommended to avoid plastic water and food bowls as the plastic might leach out into the water.
