The restart of the 2019-20 season of the NBA has kicked-off superbly. The Los Angeles Lakers will now face-off against the Houston Rockets for the third and final time in this season on the 7th of August in what promises to be a unique matchup. The Lakers have clinched the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference while the Rockets are still placed at No.6. However, they have shown good promise recently and may surprise the Lakers.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers are coming off a fantastic 116-108 win against Utah on Tuesday night and with that, they have officially secured the top spot in the West. They are easily one of the favorites heading into the postseason with a fantastic 51-16 record so far and have a strong blend of stars in their ranks to take down any team.
Anthony Davis and LeBron James will of course be the superstars to watch out for. The two bigwigs have lived up to their reputation and scored a whopping 64 points together in the last game against Utah. They are almost certain to have a big impact on this game, too.
Another man to watch out for will be Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who is shaping up into good rhythm and is scoring every game.
Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets have a 42-25 win-loss record in the ongoing season so far. They are coming off a 102-110 defeat in their last match against the Portland Trail Blazers. However, that loss came after three back-to-back victories, and hence the Rockets shouldn’t be that concerned.
The Rockets have one of the most terrific backcourts in the tournament in the form of James Harden and Russell Westbrook. The duo has been doing the bulk of the scoring for the team – in the last 3 games, Harden has scored an outstanding 96 points while Westbrook has secured an impressive 77 points. It thus goes without saying that the 2 guards are expected to be the main weapons against the Lakers.
However, Westbrook has a bruised right quad and might not be completely fit for the big game which will be a huge blow to the Rockets.

Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets have played against each other twice so far this season, and they split 1-1. The Lakers defeated the Rockets on Jan. 18 while Houston secured a win on Feb.6. It will be interesting to see how the two teams fare on their third clash.
Interestingly, when the Rockets had defeated the Lakers the last time, Westbrook was the highest scorer with 41 points. Hence, his unavailability might change the outlook of the game. The Lakers will obviously have the size advantage here and will look to dominate the Rockets with it. They are also in a much better rhythm and are looking like a champion side that is hungry for more.
Thus, while Rockets might give a tough fight, the Lakers are likely to be the eventual winners of this contest. The total points scored in the game should be above 230.
