Unfortunately, because of Covid 19, many new mothers have been left without the traditional first pictures for their newborns. In fact, many of my old photography clients have contacted me asking what they should use to take photographs of their little ones.
Which lead me to write this post. All of the suggested props are relatively cheap photography props that I have used in my photography studio to achieve a fantastic newborn portrait.

Before you purchase your props, you will need to ensure you have adequate lighting and a camera. If you do not want to buy a DSLR camera, you can rent one from places such as Lensrental. However, purchasing your own camera will allow you to use it for future shoots.
For your lighting needs, you can grab a relatively inexpensive lighting kit that will provide adequate lighting. Here are the lights I use in my home to photograph my children.
Also, before you begin the shoot, you will want to make sure to have a posing pillow to ensure the baby is comfortable and safely secured.
