I like My Skin Products like I like My People: Nontoxic.

Most of us (including me) don’t really pay attention to detail to skin care’s ingredients that we bought from the store. For some, skin care’s brand is all that important. Understandable. I’ve been there too.

Sadly, most common used chemical compound contributors in our skin care products are not your skin’s best friend (read: harmful). Ever read in your moisturizer/lotion label of parabens (some study say it can cause breast cancer), fragrance (I know I love nice smell too but it can irritating your skin), polyethylene glycols, sulfates, phthalate and more, they are toxic. And, sometimes the manufacture don’t even list all the ingredients.

Well, worry not, there are plenty natural remedies to have beautiful skin and the best is they friendly to your pocket and cost you only commitment.

Here, some skin’s best friend Natural Remedies that actually work. And, they do wonder to your skin.

Skin Treatment
Coconut Oil

Some benefits of Coconut oil for skin, such as; anti-bacterial, anti-inflammation, moisturizer for dry skin and the best is it’s natural, you can directly put or massage it on skin.

As a cleansing agent, simply massage on your dry skin with circular motion-out then wipe the residue with slightly damp cotton pad followed with your favorite toner.

Coconut oil can be effective moisturizer for dry skin or lips, however, if you have an oily skin you may want to take precaution because it may give you breakout. Putting coconut oil before you wash your hair will help with dandruff from dry scalp and get you a darker, shiny, and smooth hair.

Brown Sugar and Lemon

This is my favorite remedy for a good skin or lips scrub (easy and fast too). A pinch of brown sugar with couple drops lemon (or lime) until it slightly become paste and massage it on your skin then rinse it with lukewarm water. The lemon or lime water will work wonder for your pore and dull skin while the brown sugar will help resurfacing the texture of your skin. However, for dry skin I may suggest you to first put some coconut oil so the paste won’t feel so harsh on your skin.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera gel is like “magic” healing gel. It hydrates and clears your skin. Great for after-sun treatment, acne ointment, and a sleeping mask.

Massage it directly on to your skin or certain area that irritated and reapply if necessary.

Apple Cider Vinegar + Lavender oil

Best combo for stubborn dandruff. If you have been suffering with stubborn dandruff, no matter how many anti-dandruff shampoo you have tried, still no result. You may want to consider using the mixture of dilluted apple cider vinegar and lavender oil (or tea tree oil), it will show result in your first try.

Depending on how worse your dandruff is, you can start with 2-3 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and 1,5 cups of water then add couple drops of lavender oil to minimize the smell. Apply directly to the infected areas, wait for 3 minutes then wash it off with your favorite shampoo.

Coffee Ground

Apparently ground coffee beans is not just great to start your morning with but also great for your skin. It rejuvenates your skin and works like anti-aging. It contains antioxidant to prevent skin damage from harsh environment.

Use it as your weekly scrub — couple pinches of (raw or used) ground coffee with drops of olive oil or coconut oil to remove dead skin cells while stimulate new skin regeneration.

Tomato

It contains good source of Vit. C and lycopene for healthier younger looking skin. Get a fairer looking skin and natural rosy cheeks with a blend of tomato with honey or milk then apply the paste on your skin, leave it for at least 20 minutes. You can leave it overnight if your skin feels comfortable with it.

Beauty Tips
Enough Sleep

So, beauty sleep is real. Good enough sleep every night can have a great impact on your skin’s overall health.  When we sleep our bodies recharge and your skin as well. During sleep our skin heals, regents and .  If sleep is compromised so is the body’s ability to carry out these essential skin functions.

You want to:

  • Establish a routine bedtime and get 7-9 hours of sleep per night.
  • Get high thread count sheets and pillow cases to help avoid any pulling on the skin.
  • Wash your face nightly and apply skin care treatments.
Drink Water (a lot of it)

Drinking enough water may help keep skin clear, it helps flush out toxins through supporting metabolic pathways. It’s no secret, water is an essential beauty product. Not only does it enhance your skin, hair and nails but it also gives you an inner glow thanks to all its benefits for your body. So next time you want a beauty boost, grab a glass!

Experts recommend 2.5 litres a day, that is about 6–8 glasses, but as all bodies are created different, check for your weight, height and age as your water needs may more or less.
