Likes…

I’m as guilty as anyone,

of chasing those ‘likes’.

As though they’re validation,

you don’t hate what you see.

In that lies the problem,

any addict will know.

time comes when a ‘like’,

no longer a good thing.

~

They’re now a necessity,

to get through the day.

All that’s seen now,

the posts that weren’t liked.

~

The brain yells you failed,

you’ve let yourself down.

Write something better,

you pathetic clown.

~

That starts a spiral,

you circle the drain.

becomes harder to breath,

to do other things.

~

So put down the tools,

that drive this despair.

The only ‘like’ you need,

comes from your soul.
