A contradiction,

that is what I am.

Death dominates thought,

trumped by a fear of dying.

I look everywhere for love,

but can’t even like myself.

Successfully living a lie,

ignoring the hidden truth.

~

I know how to make others laugh,

but can’t stop the tears inside.

~

Waves of meaningless victories,

mask failure in what really counts.

~

Anger that you don’t see this,

as I smile and shake your hand.
