To Love but not to be loved…
To love but not to be loved.
A pain that blackens the heart.
It’s a prison sentence for many.
Who can’t find a way to let go.
To love but not to be loved.
A sadness often hidden within.
An unspoken state of a union.
That sparks from only one side.
To love but not to be loved.
A curse that plays tricks on the mind.
The belief that their love is enough.
For two to exist in its glow.
To love but not to be loved.
Will take away all that they are.
As the hope that’s kept them alive.
Starts slowly melting away.
