The Quick Pick Lottery ticket was purchased at a Publix grocery store in Neptune Beach Florida. This marks the lucky winner as the fourth in line of winners from Florida. The Mega Millions jackpot numbers for August 8 were 13,19,20,32 and 33. The Mega Millions ball number was 14.

The single ticket that was sold in Florida won the estimated jackpot amount of $1.58 billion in the Tuesday Night Mega Millions drawing. The lottery said that this was a record high for the lottery and was counted among the largest-ever U.S. drawing.

The government does not impose state taxes on lottery prizes in Florida. The lucky winner will only need to be concerned about the federal taxes. The Mega Millions winner after the deduction of all the taxes will receive an amount of $996.5 million over 29 years or a lump sum of $493.5 million.
