She later said that she was never contacted by the company after receiving death threats and transphobic bullying. The threats received made her feel unsafe and she decided to take a vacation outside the US. 

Mulvaney in her award acceptance speech highlighted, “Because I came to London on holiday this summer after months of feeling isolated,” she said she did not feel the baggage that she was carrying back. Further, she expressed her happiness and said “I didn’t feel like the trans beer girl” and remarked that she can now romanticize the country as a safe place.

Mulvaney was overwhelmed at the podium upon receiving the awards and noted that it had only been ‘560 days’ since the male influencer came out as trans. She even noted how grateful she was to receive the “honour from a queer publication like Attitude” highlighting that it “means so much more.”
