Is Brad Simmons Dead?

Sad news has come in. Brad Simmons has passed away. He was the director of the Mackinac Island Service Program. Also, he played a pivotal role in designing and formulating the local education system. He died on Sunday, September 24, 2023, and At the time, he was 75 years old.

The Office of the President of Brother Rice High School has officially confirmed this news. Brad Simmons’ family will let us know about his funeral arrangements soon.

More About Brad Simmons

Brad Simmons was a well-respected person known for his involvement in his community and work. He was born on March 11, 1957, in Detroit to Mary Jane and Alex Simmons.

Brad went to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Elementary School and graduated from Brother Rice High School in the year 1975. He kept studying and got a BA in Finance from the University of Detroit Mercy in the year 1979. Later, in the year 1984, he got an MBA.

For his job, Brad spent 43 years working at Ford Motor Company. He had different roles there, even becoming a Director in the Office of the Executive Chairman.

Apart from his job, Brad was very active in helping the community. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the Eagle rank in the year 1974 and earned the Silver Beaver in the year  2008.

He also worked as the director of the Mackinac Island Service Camp for a long time. Brad’s dedication to leadership and service was honored when he became a James E West Fellow in the year 2007.

Because of his dedication to helping others, Brad received a special award from Brother Rice High School. This school is very prestigious, and it’s been ranked as the best Catholic High School in Michigan for three years in a row. They even named a hall after Brad Simmons to remember his contributions forever.

His Obituary

Brad’s parents and his brothers, David and Scott, had passed away before him. He has quite a few cousins and a large group of close friends who are like family to him. People will miss him a lot in his absence.

For those who wish to pay their respects, there will be a visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, located at 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Roads), on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 2-8 pm.

A Funeral Mass will occur at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 32340 Pierce Street, Beverly Hills, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10 a.m. Friends can visit him at the church starting at 9 a.m. Brad will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

Tribute to The Legend

After hearing about Brad Simmons’ tragic demise, people from all over the world are sharing their condolences. One of his friends, Glenn Stevens, posted a heartfelt message on Twitter. There he said it was really sad news and a tremendous loss for our community this morning.

Brad Simmons was, according to him, one of the best. He considered Brad to be a gentleman, class act, and true difference-maker at Ford, the organizations where he worked, and to all those who knew him. God my friend.
